SRC Activities:
We organize a range of academic and practical activities aimed at introducing students to the field of anaesthesiology and critical care medicine. Through these activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of anaesthesiology and ICU practice, including patient management, perioperative care, and critical decision-making.
Educational sessions will focus on the various types of anaesthesia, their indications, methods of administration, duration of action, and monitoring requirements. These sessions aim to provide students with foundational knowledge and clinical insight into anaesthetic practice.
To enhance practical learning, students will have the opportunity to participate in supervised night duty shifts, where they can observe and assist alongside experienced physicians. During these shifts, students will learn about commonly used anaesthetic and critical care medications, appropriate administration techniques, patient monitoring, and the identification of potential complications and clinical red flags.
In addition to clinical exposure, the SRC will promote academic development by encouraging students to participate in research activities within the field of anaesthesiology and intensive care. With the guidance of Dr. Hubert Buchwald, students will have the opportunity to work on review articles and research projects on topics of interest. This initiative aims to strengthen students’ academic writing skills and deepen their understanding of current developments in anaesthesiology and critical care.
Furthermore, the club plans to organize simulation-based training sessions. These sessions will allow students to practice clinical decision-making and management in simulated real-life scenarios, helping them develop confidence and preparedness for future clinical environments.
