The Vascular Biology Student Scientific Club, founded in 2021 within the
Department of Histology and Embryology, is a vibrant and interdisciplinary
community committed to students with a keen interest in vascular biology.
The club actively engages in research pertaining to the intricacies of
blood vessel structure and function, as well as the processes integral to
their development and evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Club’s mission is to foster the scientific growth and collaboration of
both Polish- and English-speaking students, providing a platform for the
exchange of knowledge and experiences. Circle members have the chance to
engage in diverse research projects, attend scientific conferences, and
participate in workshops, thereby enhancing their competencies and honing
their research skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, club members play an active role in research projects
dedicated to analyzing cellular responses to inflammatory factors. This
research involves observing changes in cell morphology induced by
inflammatory stress and analyzing alterations in vital functions, such as
gene expression, cytokine production, and modifications in cellular
structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current research projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Assessment of the impact of the activity of tyrosine kinase inhibitors
on the secretory potential of coronary artery endothelial cells under
inflammatory response conditions – in vitro studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Cytoimmunological changes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BAL) after
COVID-19 infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Evaluation of the effect of transcription factor KLF11 expression on
the inflammatory response of endothelial and smooth muscle cells of
coronary arteries induced by TNF-beta; and disruption of the
TGF-alpha;-SMAD signaling pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Mechanobiology of the endothelial cell migration as a basis for the use
of biodegradable aliphatic polyester copolymers containing naturally
bioactive components in the design of cell scaffolds with increased
angiogenic potential of regenerated tissues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
